CJ Macauely
Head Coach

Coach CJ Macauley is entering his 4th season as the Head Coach at West Ashley High School. Coach Macauley was born and raised on the island of St. Maarten, Netherland Antilles and moved to Philadelphia at the age of 8. There he grew his passion for soccer. From 1999-2003 CJ played for a 6A Neshaminy High School in Bucks County, PA and continued to the Marywood University Pacers. There he captained the Pacers for two years, was named to PAC All-Conference, and held the program record for career assists until 2012. He continued to play for PDL and NASL teams in the PA area until an injury sidelined him in 2010.
CJ's Coaching career began after graduation when he stayed on as an assistant coach at Marywood University from 2008-2010. After moving to the West Ashley area, CJ began coaching club soccer for Charleston United Soccer Club and was the Director of Coaching from 2018-2020, winning 2 State titles and Coach of the Year in 2018. Coach Macauley was previously the assistant at Academic Magnet High school for 6 years. In his 6 years spent with the Raptors, they won 4 SC state championships and had the highest team GPA in the country 3 times.
Coach Macauley currently works at the pro level as the Lead Scout for the Savannah Clovers in the NISA Pro League.
2021 Season he took the program over after Covid canceled the 2020 season. The Wildcats finished at 6-7 but made the playoffs in his first season, but lost in 2OT vs Chapin who went on to win the SC State Championship that year. 4 Athletes went to continue to play collegiately at Coker, Guilford, USC Lancaster, Francis Marion, while one continued his career in Spain at Odisea FC
2022 Season the program improved to 13-7-1, making the SC State Playoffs but dropped to Stratford in 2OT 2-1.
2023 Season the program was off to one of the hottest starts in years. Season began at 7-1 and they finished 12-9-1 after injuries ended 4 key players seasons. They knocked off Stratford to win their first playoff game in over 10 years, but lost in 2OT to Carolina Forest out of Myrtle Beach. 4 players went off to play collegiately and continue their careers at Columbia College, and USC Lancaster.
2024 Finished 15-8-1 and the Wildcats host a playoff game for the first time in 15 years. The beat Conway 4-1 and went on to face #3 River Bluff. They lost on the final penalty kick.
